I recently bought a workout video from Target. The video is called The Firm Cardio Dance Slim Down. It promises visible results in 10 workouts. So far I have done 4 workouts and I think I am becoming a believer or the workout video. I never really trusted that you could do these full workouts in your home and actually see results. I guess its not really all that different from going and working out in a gym like 24 Hour Fitness or something. I learned that, at least with my video, the quality of the workout is in how hard you push yourself.
There are many different types of workout videos.
CollageVideo.com gives you the ability to preview these videos before you buy them. Hip Hop Abs was my first choice when I was shopping for a worout video. Unfortunately it was too expensive. So I got Cardio Dance Slim Down. This is just one way I found that I can get myself into shape. I have found that work out videos are the best for people with busy schedules because you use them when you have the time and you can stop the video when you feel you've had enough or have to leave. I have started to really enjoy my workout. I am happy to say that I have started my journey to a new and slightly healthier lifestyle.

Hey, so, another good place for fitness videos is Comcast on-demand (I can't believe I just linked to Comcast). There's a lot of pretty good videos on there. I go to the Presidio YMCA to workout and it's really nice and not too much $$$. The stuff on-demand covers a lot of different categories, everything from yoga to pilates to weight training and cardio. It's pretty useful for doing stuff in the house. I think I saw Hip Hop Abs on there once too. Snoop was bulking up.
Glad you're enjoying working out. It is true that nothing is better than that tingling feeling that says 'a job well done'. I've never been much for workout videos and gyms. The only time I go to gym is to use the swimming pool. Click the gears on this link to see my favorite mode of fitness.
If you like workout videos, you might like this video game: EyeToy Kinetic. The creators teamed up with Nike to make this exercise game for the Playstation 2. You use a webcam-like accessory that puts you into the game. Then you dodge, box, jump, kick and punch things similar to what you'd do in a workout video. The objects in the game have to be attacked or dodged, or you lose points. The game also features yoga and stretching exercises for cool down and warm up stuff. :)
Hey,
Working out could be fun. Some people believe working out is too hard or too much work, but if you find the right type of workout for yourself, it's fun. From my personal experience, I love to do a lot of different activities like: hiking, running, playing basketball, etc.
I use to workout a lot back in high school. But now, it's kind of hard to workout everyday because I have a busy schedule. Well, enjoy your workout, it seems like you're having fun.
At first I was skeptical, like you, about those workout videos. Until, of course, I tried a Pilates one with my roommate and man, I felt the burn! I am also not afraid, but a bit embarrassed, to admit that I was a sucker for those Carmen Elektra strip/workout videos that did nothing for me at all but make me feel less sexy. HAHA. It was fun, but probably not as effective as Pilates.
I really like your idea of a "slightly healthier" lifestyle. I can handle slightly healthier -- much less daunting than a total overhaul. : )
Good post. I'd like to have learned a little about the actual content of the videos (what you have to do, what the dance aspect is like, etc.). But the personal story about using them is a nice touch.
Just a few bugs to fix:
atleast (typo)
work out videos (change to "workout")
"you put them on when you use them when you have the time" (something needs to be taken out there)
